I.T. Virtualization

As a leading Microsoft and Dell Partner, Lewis InfoTech provides a comprehensive set of virtualization consulting services leveraging Microsoft solutions. Virtualization technologies can be intelligently applied to all aspects of the server and desktop environment to support a dynamic enterprise. The business benefits of virtualization include cost savings, improved business continuity and disaster recovery, reduction in I.T. management overheads, and the creation of a more dynamic, flexible, and responsive I.T. infrastructure leading to improved I.T. business alignment.

I.T. Virtualization Services:

Server Virtualization (Hyper-V)

Server virtualization enables multiple server operating systems to run on a single physical server machine as virtual machines (VMs). LIT works with clients to develop roadmaps for server virtualization and consolidation across the enterprise, and then assists clients with plan execution and benefits realization. Leveraging Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V technology, LIT consultants strategically consolidate server workloads, define and implement disaster recovery models, and implement security models leveraging virtualization technologies.

Application Virtualization (SoftGrid)

Application virtualization removes the need for applications to be physically installed, allowing for applications to be delivered and restored on demand, dynamically, on desktops or through terminal servers. LIT works with clients to envision and realize the benefits of application virtualization and Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization technology, enabling applications to be rapidly delivered and managed securely as virtual services provided only to authorized users and without conflict with other applications or operating systems. As a result, applications can be rapidly and easily rolled out, updated, supported, restored with user preferences, re-allocated, and removed cleanly across the enterprise.

Presentation Virtualization (Terminal Services)

Presentation virtualization separates the graphics and user-interface layer from the processing layer of an application, virtualizing the presentation of specific applications or entire desktops, and thus enabling the consolidation of applications and data in the data center while providing broad access to local and remote users working on desktops or thin clients. Leveraging Microsoft Terminal Services, LIT works with clients to identify appropriate opportunities to benefit from presentation virtualization, and to configure and deploy Terminal Services for specific applications for individual end user environments and scenarios.

Desktop Virtualization (Vista Enterprise Centralized Desktop)

Desktop virtualization and virtual desktop infrastructure create separate and typically multiple desktop operating system environments either on the desktop or hosted on a server. The technologies are often used as an alternative to Terminal Services for special situations, and to allow legacy or line of business applications to operate within a diverse operating system environment. LIT helps clients identify where to appropriately use virtual desktop technologies such as Windows Vista Enterprise Centralized Desktop, which allows for an entire desktop operating system to be hosted on a server and remotely delivered to a desktop, and Microsoft Virtual PC, which allows for multiple operating systems on a single desktop.

Infrastructure Management (System Center)

Infrastructure management employs a unified system for managing all virtual and physical assets, helping consistently manage, automate, secure, prioritize, and monitor both virtual and physical resources, as well as virtualization profiles, from a single management suite. LIT works with clients to define and implement infrastructure management strategies leveraging Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft System Center.
